TRADICIONES Y TENDENCIAS PARA CELEBRAR EL DĂŤA DEL PADRE

TRADITIONS AND TRENDS TO CELEBRATE FATHER'S DAY

Father's Day holds a significant place among the special occasions dedicated to family bonding. It serves as a moment to express affection and gratitude to fathers for their unwavering love, dedication, and commitment to guiding us toward responsible adulthood.

Throughout human history, the celebration of the mother and child bond has often taken center stage, with a less certain understanding of the role of men or their spirits in the conception process. Nevertheless, men have traditionally been responsible for providing essential support, including food and shelter, for the children born to the women with whom they were mated.

Origins dating back to ancient Greece link Mother's Day to antiquity, but Father's Day emerges as a more recent celebration, finding its roots in the early 20th century.

Historical traces reveal early Father's Day celebrations, notably on July 5, 1908, in West Virginia, at the Central Church in Fairmont, responding to Charles Clayton's request. The Irvington Methodist Church in Vancouver, Washington, claimed a similar honor in 1912, celebrating Parents’ Day as suggested by Reverend JH Berringer. Multiple claims arose, including Harry C. Meek in Chicago in 1915, while serving as the Uptown Lions Club president. History attributes the official creation of Father's Day to Sonora Smart Dodd in 1909, acknowledging all fathers' roles.

President Calvin Coolidge supported the concept in 1924, but President Lyndon Johnson signed the 1966 proclamation, declaring the third Sunday in June as Father's Day in the United States. While predominantly celebrated on this date in the Americas, global variations exist, with Spain linking it to Saint Joseph on March 19, Russia associating it with Defender of the Fatherland Day on February 23, and the Middle East combining it with the first day of summer.

As Father's Day aligns with the World Cup this year, unique gift ideas beyond ties and lotions abound. Consider innovative cosmetic treatments incorporating caviar for enhanced collagen and elastin. Alternatively, gift a spa day or massage for a relaxing experience.

In the accessory realm, cufflinks are regaining popularity, with handmade and personalized designs available. Experiential gifts, like tickets to a concert, play, or an adventurous trip, are also on-trend.

Complement your thoughtful gift with a box of roses from Don Eloy. Beyond mere beauty, flowers uniquely express love, offering a silent yet profound message that transcends verbal communication. Appreciation for the exquisite and the sentiment roses convey isn't limited to women alone.
